AT PRAIRIE CREEK REDWOODS STATE PARK

In this cathedral of trees,
in this sacred sanctuary of shadows,
it takes a mind of silence
to hear these redwoods
grieving for what is lost.

Listen deep into the stillness
of their world and you can hear them
praying for each other,
and for the earth,
praying for what will survive
and what will not.
